We took my son here he needed a tooth pulled. ( their had been trama to it). ( he was 4.5) They said they didn't have any appointment times to be able to sedate him. So after he got numbed up I had to hold him down. I was assured this was only going to take a second. Apparently there was a tooth fragment that the dentist could not get, he was jamming the tool up into my sons gums while looking for the fragment. My sons screaming in pain. The dentist said he doesn't feel pain only pressure. It was horrible. 1.5 later ( that's how long it took to get my son to step foot in a dentist office again) we went back to a different dentist.
My daughter will be 8 in August and she has been going there since she has been 2 they are great. I recommend them to everyone and I will keep taking my daughter there until she cant anymore. They are nice and caring about your needs. I don't miss her 6 months appointments ever and she loves them and enjoys getting her teeth cleaned. She had her 2 front teeth capped and 4 back teeth with filling/caps and the doctor did a great job plus made her feel so comfortable. She has had 2 baby teeth pulled that didnt want to come out and the doc did a good job at that also.
I was referred here through a family member. The hygentists are good enough, however Dr Carrico is not. I was very disappointed watching the way she spoke to my daughter when she was filling her cavity. My daughter had a few cavities filled before and by a different dentist and she didn't so much as shed a tear. She is 5 and has articulated that "Dr Carrico hurts". When I mentioned that I will be bringing my daughter to my previous dentist for all dental work, she was very dismissive, and rather annoyed that I did not appreciate her way of practice. This is a sign of a poor clinician. An excellent clinician would ask how they may be able to accommodate and perhaps learn a less torturous way of treating children. Unfortunately, she is not open for thoughts of improvement, she knows more that any parent, and frankly according to her demeanor, she also knows more than other dentists, as well. It's a shame, I feel bad for her patients.
My daughter was misdiagnosed. They said the spot on her tooth was just food stuck in it. We go back about 7 months later for a cleaning and they said she might need a crown on that same tooth because of a mistake they made. I personally will never go back.
I just can't say enough how grateful I am for Dr. Radtke. My toddler needed to have cavities filled and a cap put on another. She gave us many options for how to treat it along with a list of pros and cons for each. I decided to take the least invasive option of laughing gas and local anesthetic. From my research and speaking with other moms it seems many kids go under general anesthesia at a hospital! Eek! I am so glad she has the patience to proceed with a less invasive option split into two visits. I felt that really showed her dedication to children and skill as a dentist. My son was happy when he left and excited for the new toy he got. I can tell he will not be afraid to return.
