I mainly come here for most groceries, and toiletries. The produce is almost always delicious. The biggest problem is that there are almost 30 checkout lanes, and there will be about 2 open, and they got rid of "baggers." The cashier is ringing you up, and bagging your groceries. This is insane! The self checkouts are always open, some have no limit, but then you have to bag your own extremely quickly because someone is behind you waiting to purchase. I always dread checkout here. Instead, Meijer Brighton chooses to pay employees just to stand and monitor the self checkout areas instead of opening more lanes! I always see at least 2-3 employees meandering around self checkout pretending to be busy.

I usually enjoy shopping at Meijer in Brighton. The last three times I have shopped there, the check out lines are rediculously long. Today there were only about 25% of the check out lanes/registers open with at least 15 people in each line. I will no longer buy frozen food there and probably need to try other grocery stores that do not have sufficient staff on the check out registers.

I thought my "bad day" at Meijer several months ago was just a terrible fluke (it was terrible). But this morning my husband came home so frustrated after having a very similar experience. Both times, sale prices were marked on the items we went in to buy and then, when they rang up wrong at the register, the cashiers and department employees (as well as customer service for me) acted angry and refused to honor the sale price because it was some sort of mistake. The time and effort it took for us to find and purchase these items after selecting them purely for the sale price was wasted. The way we have been treated by staff as a great inconvenience and irritation is disgraceful. We are not argumentative people, but this feels like scamming. Meijer customers need to wonder if the prices they think they are paying is really what they end up paying (check your receipts)! There also needs to be a level of courtesy that, even if a sale price can't be honored, a sincere apology and concern is the attitude, not defensiveness.

I shop here a lot. Like the Mperks. Good prices. Friendly service. Could use a few more cashiers at those registers.

My wife and I really enjoy shopping at this Meijer. The workers are always friendly and helpful. Grocery, merchandise, and all other items are easy to find. There are usually great deals that we always take advantage of. The vegetarian food selection is bigger than most stores, which we really do appreciate.
